Left-arm spinner Kumar Karthikeya’s five-wicket haul helped Madhya Pradesh beat Bengal to enter the Ranji Trophy final after 23 years. Bengal needed 350 runs to win but the team could score only 175 runs. Karthikeya, who played IPL for Mumbai Indians, took five wickets for 67 runs in 32 overs. He took eight wickets for 128 runs in the match. Bengal will suffer more on the way of defeat than on defeat. The team easily knelt in front of Madhya Pradesh. Captain Abhimanyu Easwaran scored the highest 78 runs for Bengal but that too did not look comfortable in front of Karthikeya.
