The shopping center that is part of the mixed-use development of Mktikah, owned by Fibra Uno (Funo), will open its doors in the last quarter of 2022 and expects to receive influxes of between 50,000 and 60,000 people daily after its inauguration, assured Carlos Sigüenza Pliego, commercial deputy director of Parks Developer.
In a meeting with the media, the director said that currently the occupancy of commercial spaces, which add up to more than 120 thousand square meters for shops, stores, restaurants, entertainment and luxury, is above 95 percent in the entire complex, so They expect to report a good flow from next year.
“Fortunately we are reaching 95 percent occupancy in general,” he said, for the three office towers, one with 675 apartments for sale and rent, a medical office tower, a hospital, the five-level shopping center and 280 stores. , and the construction of an additional hotel is being analyzed in the future, of which no further details were revealed.
He added that of all the mixed-use development of Mitikah, an investment of 22.5 billion pesos has already been adjusted, plus that made by the tenants, and highlighted the intervention of Grupo Sordo Madaleno (GSM) and other firms in the design of the mall.
“The core issue with COVID was that the consumer experience had to be reconfigured to open spaces. Economically, we are reaching pre-COVID numbers, we did not have to reformulate an economic proposal as such,” he said.
However, he did acknowledge that “without a doubt the investment rose”, as an effect of inflation and the pandemic, although he did not detail exactly the main cost overruns experienced for the development of Mitikah.
After a tour with the press, it was possible to verify the progress of the work, most of the stores with brand logos announcing their next opening, while some accesses and details of the area of restaurants and department stores are still under construction.
On the other hand, he commented that the opening of the Mitikah shopping center, scheduled for the last quarter of this year, more than a larger offer of brands such as Liverpool (more than 30 thousand square meters), Palacio de Hierro (with five floors of commercial space), Cinépolis and other brands, Mitikah wants to create experiences with its visitors.
The space will have stores such as Recórcholis, Lego, Hugo Boss, Victoria’s Secret, Pandora, Armani, Abercrombie, three of the main banks in the country and restaurants such as Sushiroll, Puerto Madero and the Shake Shack hamburger chain, among others.
