Milton Dávila continues to conquer with his guitar and becomes the youngest to receive an APAOSS award

The small Milton Davila He continues to conquer with his classical guitar. His most recent achievement was having won the first prize in the Competition offered by the Association of Parents and Friends of Secondary and Higher Education Orchestras (APAOSS), where students from all the Free Music Schools of Puerto Rico participate, open to all instruments.

In the 17 competitions that APAOSS has offered so far, it was reported that this student from the Escuela Libre de Música de Caguas, Milton Dávila, is the youngest participant to have won at 9 years old. This musician, who has been playing guitar and piano since he was 4 years old, was awarded the Ricardo Morales Sáez Scholarship, with which he was awarded $3,000 to study in the summer in Europe.

As part of the celebration and competition, the musician, nicknamed “Miltín”, will be part of the XVII Soloist Concert, titled “Tocar y Soñar”, to be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 4:00 pm in the Pablo Casals Symphony Hall, of the Santurce Fine Arts Center. During this event, free of charge, Miltín will perform “7 Simple Studies” by Leo Brouwer.

Miltín has demonstrated his enthusiasm, passion, dedication, discipline and love for the guitar and has earned him an invitation in January 2024 to perform at the “Reyando con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Puerto Rico” event, with which will perform the famous piece “The Mission”, by Ennio Morricone, to be held in the Festival Hall of the Fine Arts Center, in Santurce.

Likewise, he has been invited to perform again as a soloist in a concert for public and private schools with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, to be held on November 2 at 10:00 am and November 3 at 7:00 pm in the Pablo Casals Symphony Hall at the Center of Fine Arts, Santurce, where he will perform Vivaldi’s Concerto in D Major.

In August 2023, Milton again participated in the acclaimed International Guitar Workshop Festival in Carrión de Los Condes Spain, where he performed nightly for pilgrims walking the Pilgrimage to Compostela, also known for the Caminos de Santiago, and studied with the virtuoso guitarists René Izquierdo, Elina Chekan and Dale Kavanagh, among others, being the youngest to participate in the festival again.

During this past July, Milton participated in a guitar camp in Tuzla, Bosnia, called Ljetni Camp Guitar, where he received 5 guitar lessons daily with acclaimed guitarists Predrag Stankovic, Dejan. Ivanovic and Boris Tesic, and at the end of the camp they gave a concert.
