Metro Line 1: This is what the new trains look like inside (PHOTO GALLERY)

The government of Mexico City presented the first train that is part of the new models that will run on Line 1 of the Metro (pink), once maintenance work is completed which started from July and will end until March 2023.

This convoy is exposed to one side of the Monument to the Revolution, in the center of Mexico Cityand anyone who wishes can visit its interiors from this Thursday, September 22 to Sunday, September 25, as part of the integrated mobility exhibition.

This is the first of 29 trains that will arrive in Mexico for use on the pink line, inaugurated since 1969.

Its seating layout is similar to that of the trains that have arrived since 2019, and the seats are attached to the sides of the interior.

The event was attended by the Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum; the capital’s mobility secretary, Andrés Lajous; the director of the Mexico City Metro, Guillermo Calderón and representatives of the CRRC consortium.

The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the next three days, according to the transportation service.

As with the line 12 trains, the new convoy has folding seats, which people can open whenever they need to use them.

Claudia Sheinbaum assured that the new Metro trains for Line 1 are wider and more comfortable.

The traditional station indications will prevail at the top of the train, although there will also be full service maps between doors and windows.

The train will have screens. In them, users are notified of the Metro station where they are. In 2018, the debate of candidates for the head of government of Mexico City and the announcements made by the Vive Latino festival about the bands that participated in the latest editions were broadcast.
