The 6th Elite Men’s National Boxing Championship began on Saturday at Giri Center of Haryana Agricultural University. Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta inaugurated the championship on Saturday. Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta and HAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. BR Kamboj met the boxers and encouraged them. During this, President of Haryana Boxing Association, Major Satyapal Sindhu was also present. Dr. Kamal Gupta said on the occasion that sports are very important for the all-round development of the youth. It is closely related to physical, mental, psychological and intellectual health. Sports give us motivation, courage, discipline and concentration. The central and state governments have started many schemes and unique programs to take the players forward.
500 boxers from 36 teams taking part:On this occasion, Ravindra Panu, General Secretary of the Boxing Association said that more than 500 boxers from 36 teams across the country are participating in the National Boxing Championship which will continue till January 6. In the championship, boxers who have participated in many international events including Commonwealth Games and Asian Championships will show their skills. The winners of this championship will play either in the Boxer India Camp or directly in the Commonwealth or Asian Championships.
Boxers practice after rest
Vice President of Youth Boxing Association Hisar, Manoj Kush said that after reaching Hisar on Friday, the boxers of all the teams practiced boxing at Giri Center after rest. Treasurer Captain Praveer Gehlot, General Secretary Ravindra Panu and Director Administration Ombir Hooda and President of Youth Boxing Association Hisar Bhagat Singh, Vice President Ashish Kukki, Shyam Sundar were present on this occasion.
