New Delhi, August 7 (Language)Over 20 leaders from Jammu and Kashmir joined the Congress on Monday, most of them belonging to the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) led by Ghulam Nabi Azad. The leaders joined the party at ’10 Rajaji Marg’, the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. Kharge, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, Pradesh Congress Committee President Waqar Rasool Wani and party’s Jammu and Kashmir unit in-charge Rajni Patil were present on the occasion. Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh hit out at Ghulam Nabi Azad, alleging that Azad’s ‘DNA’ has changed, a fresh proof of which he has given through his latest statement related to Article 370. Ramesh tweeted, “This morning, 21 DAP (Disappearing Azad Party) leaders are back in the Congress, including the one who filed a defamation case against me on behalf of Ghulam Nabi Azad.” He claimed, “Meanwhile, the GNA (Ghulam Nabi Azad) has given new evidence of his own ‘DNA’ being changed, saying that those opposing the abrogation of Article 370 are ignorant of the ground situation.” This is the statement of the person who took a stand in the Rajya Sabha against the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
