Chandigarh, June 2 The Punjab government, which came under attack after cutting the security of many VIPs including folk singer Sidhu Musewala in Punjab, has now come on the backfoot. The Punjab government on Thursday filed a report in the Punjab and Haryana High Court saying that everyone’s security would be restored after June 6. Former Deputy CM of Punjab OP Soni has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking quashing of the May 11 order of the Punjab Government. Under this, 19 security personnel posted in his security were removed, by withdrawing his Z security. Soni alleged that ever since the AAP government came to power, it was removing the security out of revenge. He has been attacked many times and he has been the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. In this case, the Punjab government presented its side in the court on Thursday. In which the government said that the security of 424 people was cut, out of which the security of 40 VVIPs has been restored. The government has not made the list public this time. The Punjab government has said that security has been cut in the wake of the anniversary of Operation Blue Star. The government has told the High Court that about 76,000 rupees are spent on the deployment of a security personnel. If a VVIP wants more than two security personnel, then he can make personal expenses. The High Court has asked the government how the security of VVIPs has been cut or the reinstatement list leaked. In response to this, the Punjab Government has said that they have issued instructions to the departmental officers to maintain complete confidentiality in such matters.
