Maharashtra Police has asked suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functionary Nupur Sharma to appear on June 22 to record her statement in connection with her alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad. An official gave this information. He said that following Sharma’s remarks, an FIR was registered against him by the Mumbra police in Thane district of Maharashtra. Accordingly, the Mumbra police has summoned Sharma to record his statement before the investigating officer on June 22, the official said.
