Maharashtra: ED raids residence of lawyer who filed petitions against Fadnavis

Nagpur, March 31 (Agency)

The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday raided the residence of a Nagpur-based lawyer who filed several petitions against former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis in the last few years. A police officer gave this information. The Enforcement Directorate raided advocate Satish Uke’s residence in Parvati Nagar area here at 6 am amid tight security of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The Mumbai unit of the central agency has conducted raids in the land-purchase case, the official said. Uke has filed several petitions in the courts against BJP leaders especially Fadnavis. In one of his applications, he had sought criminal action against Fadnavis for not disclosing criminal cases in his election affidavit. Uke has alleged that the BJP leader had filed a false affidavit in 2014 and concealed two criminal cases of cheating and forgery registered in 1996 and 1998.
