Medellin, June 15 (Agency)

Teenage archer Bhajan Kaur managed a top-10 finish in the recurve women’s qualification round of the World Cup stage three even as other Indian archers disappointed. As expected, the archers from Korea once again put up a strong performance. India’s 17-year-old Bhajan impressed on her debut World Cup, finishing ninth with a score of 668.

Sangeeta (651) and Tanisha Verma (648) finished 30th and 36th respectively as the women’s team ranking slipped to seventh. Among women, the top three positions were shared by Korean archers with Shanghai World Cup gold medalist Lim Sihyon (684) leading the way. Tushar Shelke (671) was the best among Indians as he finished 16th in men’s qualification. The top three positions in this category were held by archers from Korish.

Kim Woojin topped the list with 696 points. Among other Indians, Mrinal Chauhan (670) finished 20th while Dheeraj Bommadevra was a point behind at 23rd. The Indian men’s team is ranked fourth in the rankings and could face Korea in the semi-finals.
