The Congress on Monday rejected speculations about former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath breaking ties with the party and joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that he is a senior leader of the party and will join the Rahul Gandhi-led ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’. Will join it after reaching the state. On the other hand, Kamal Nath also tried to put an end to these speculations and gave the message through his close leader Sajjan Singh Verma that he was not leaving the party and his son Nakul Nath would once again contest on Congress ticket from Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat. Will contest elections only.
Party general secretary and Madhya Pradesh in-charge Jitendra Singh claimed that all the speculations and propaganda about Kamal Nath were done by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to Singh, ‘I spoke to Kamal Nath ji yesterday (Sunday) and the day before yesterday (Saturday) also. Tomorrow (Tuesday) I am going to Bhopal, there will be a meeting with MPs, MLAs and leaders. Kamal Nath ji will also attend the meeting. The yatra will proceed as per his suggestion… Kamal Nath ji will participate prominently in the yatra. Nakulnath will also be a part of the yatra.
