On a temporary basis and for health reasons, the head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), Jorge Arganis Díaz-Leal, will be separated from the position, so Jorge Nuño will take over the office.
In a message on its Twitter account, the SICT indicated that the announcement was made by the Secretary of the Interior (Segob), Adán Augusto López.
“The head of Segob reported that Arganis Díaz Leal will rejoin the SICT in the coming days”, added the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport.
The current head of the SICT he is 79 years old and he has been one of the least active secretaries in public events and appearances with actors from the sectors he is in charge of. Health causes unknown that force him to leave his function temporarily.
In another publication, the Communications and Transportation agency reported that Arganis Díaz Leal is expected to return to his activities in the coming days.
The official has been the head of the unit since July 2020. In addition He has been in public service in Mexico City for nearly 24 years. and the Federal Government, under positions related to the public works sector.
He was selected by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador as the successor to Javier Jiménez Espriú, who had expressed his disapproval of López Obrador’s proposal to take command of the coastlines away from the Merchant Marines, who run the ports with a civilian command.
In the sixties and seventies he worked in the works offices of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), he also worked for nearly 20 years in the ICA group.
He is a civil engineer from UNAM, an institution where he was a teacher for around 21 years, according to public information obtained from the Ministry of Communications and Transportation and on the official website of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
