Vivek Kumar Mahto (29), son of Jharkhand’s Sindri MLA Indrajit Mahto, committed suicide on Monday allegedly by consuming insecticide. A police officer gave this information. According to the official, the deceased was preparing for competitive exams while staying in Delhi. He had returned to Silli, about 65 km from Ranchi, a few days ago and was staying with a friend. The official said that the father of the deceased and BJP MLA from Sindri was ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad. Officials said, ‘According to the information received, Vivek Kumar Mahato had consumed insecticide on Sunday morning. After this, he was first taken to a private hospital in Muri and later referred to another medical establishment in Ranchi, where he died on Monday. At the same time, a doctor at the Ranchi hospital said that the youth had consumed insecticide, after which he was admitted to the hospital on Sunday evening and died on Monday morning.
