As happens every September (sometimes during the first days, other times in the second fortnight) with the arrival of the new iPhones the iOS version appears, at least for those models that are still supported. And although there was no mention at the event, it is now possible to download the brand new operating system.
And although the list of devices that are compatible is quite extensive, it is less than one might assume. From this Monday, September 18, they will only be 23 iPhone models those who are in a position to install iOS 17 on their phones.
Although iOS did not have as much press, it introduces important new features, such as NameDrop, which uses AirDrop technology and allows share contacts with another person simply aligning the two mobiles.
In addition, the personalization of contacts is total. You can assign photos with depth, different fonts, and a lot of combinations so that each person has a unique touch.
While the Standby mode allows you to view certain content when the mobile is charging and in a horizontal position. There are several modalities such as a double clock and calendar widget, view of featured photos, the time in digital format, among others.
In iOS 17 the widgets will be interactive. That is, users will have the possibility of interacting with them to execute the actions of the applications to which they belong. These widgets will be present in iPadOS 17 on both the lock and home screens.
FaceTime, the video calling app, which will also come to Apple TV, adds new effects that are activated by gestures. It also adds the possibility of recording a video message when someone does not answer our call or rejects it because they cannot answer it.

iOS 17: how to download the new software
The process to download iOS 17 on an iPhone is simple. If the announcement that the new software is ready does not appear on the screen, you will have to make sure you have one of the supported models and then follow these steps:
Open the “Settings” application on your iPhone and from there, go to the General section.
Click on “Software Update”.
Once there, tap on “Download and install” when the update to iOS 16 appears.
Once the process has completed, your iPhone will reboot and, after a few minutes, it will boot up again, already updated to the latest version of iOS so you can enjoy all the new features of the update.
