First of all, tell us about your character in the show?
The name of my character is Subhan Siddiqui. He is a very cute character. He is also a singer. For the first time I am playing a Muslim character, so for this I have worked very hard at the language level. Especially regarding the pronunciation of Urdu. I hope people will give the same amount of love to Subhaan as they have been giving to my other characters.
This show is also giving social awareness. The trend of giving a social message along with entertainment is now visible in TV shows.
What would you say about this?
I think this is great. Along with entertainment, when you also give a good message to people, then people take it seriously. That doesn’t sound like a lecture. If the society becomes aware then it is good for everyone. Many times some rules are made for the benefit of the society but people also misuse them, this is not right.
You have been doing TV shows for a long time. A lot of changes are also coming in TV. What do you like best in these changing times?
First of all, TV is no longer just a medium of entertainment. He is also raising social issues through his stories and making the society aware. Secondly, in the scripts that are being written now, the male characters are also being written as very strong. Now TV is not limited to only female oriented subjects. This is the reason why today everyone is a TV viewer. My father also watches TV shows. We have become stronger at the technical level also. A few years ago we used to talk that the content of TV should be like this. Today everyone wants to make shows on that good new content. Everyone wants their show to be different and good.
You entered TV at a time when mostly women-oriented shows were made. In such a situation, did you not face any problem in choosing the character in the beginning?
In this matter, I was very lucky that whatever roles were offered to me were very strong and all were lead roles. There was a lot to do in those characters. I found all those characters as equal as the female characters. This is why it did not take much time to prove himself as an actor. I had a variety of work.
Just now you were talking that you want to work in every medium. Is every medium different for an actor?
No, I don’t think so because the actor acts. Yes, it is true that the audience and content of every medium is definitely different. That’s why I want to try every medium so that I get a chance to reach every kind of audience and work on every kind of content.
Apart from TV, what else is going on in your life?
Recently I did a web show ‘Tatlubaaz’. It was a huge hit. Now preparations for its second season are going on. Besides, there is ‘prayer to God’.
