New Delhi, Apr 6 (PTI) India on Thursday rejected China’s renaming of some places in Arunachal Pradesh, once again reiterating that the state is an integral and inalienable part of India and there is no right to keep the “fabricated” name. This will not change the ground reality. Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said in a weekly press conference that this is not the first time that China has made such an attempt and ‘we reject it as before’. He said, ‘We have said earlier also that we reject such efforts (by China) and we reiterate the same again.’ “We stand by our stand and keeping ‘made up’ names will not change this fact,” he said. ,
Significantly, China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs on Sunday issued standardized names of 11 places for Arunachal Pradesh. China claims this area as part of southern Tibet.
On the ongoing standoff with China in eastern Ladakh, Bagchi said that peace and tranquility in the border area has been disrupted after April-May 2020 and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently said that contrary to the agreements on the border, the deployment of a large number of troops It is an unusual situation. He said both the countries are holding talks on this at the military level and diplomatic level and “we cannot see normalcy” until peace and tranquility returns to the border areas.
