Indian women’s 4x400m relay team and 1500m sprinter Lakshita Vinod Sandila won gold medals as the country finished third in the standings on the final day of the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championships here on Wednesday. Sandila won the gold medal in the women’s 1500m race with a personal best timing of 4:24.23. Rejoana Malik Heena played a key role in the 4x400m relay team as the Indian team won gold in 3:40.49 seconds. Mehdi Hasan won the bronze medal in the men’s 1500m by clocking 3:56.01. Shivaji Parashu Madappagoudra won the silver in the men’s 5000 meters with a timing of 14:49.05, taking India’s medal tally to 19.
