In a strong speech, Vladimir Putin assured that the era of the unipolar world led by the United States is ‘over’

In a defiant speech, Vladimir Putin assured that the era of unipolar world led by the United States “is over” and questioned the West’s attempts to preserve it “by all means”.

“This era is over, despite all attempts to maintain and preserve it by all means. Change is a natural process of history,” the Russian president said at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg.

Putin accused the United States of believing itself “the envoy of God”after claiming victory in the Cold War, following the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.

“Claiming victory in the Cold War, proclaiming itself God’s envoy on earth, the US has no obligation, only interests and, by the way, those interests are sacred,” he stressed.

In addition, he warned that “the recipes” of North America do not work on Russian territory and accused Western leaders of ignoring the “revolutionary and tectonic changes”, which he considered “irreversible”.

“They, the United States, do not seem to realize that in the last decades on the planet, new and powerful centers have been formed and are increasingly making themselves heard, each of which develops its political systems and public institutions, and implements their own models of economic growth,” he said. And he added that those countries have the right to defend and guarantee their “national interests”.

“They believe that the hegemony of the West in world politics and economy is a constant, it is eternal. There is nothing that is eternal. Our colleagues not only deny reality, but also try to hinder the march of history, they think as in the century past, they are hostage to their own lies,” he stressed.

To explain the decline of the West reminded us that the US it has gone from being an exporting country to an importing economy, which has caused a global economic crisis with its irresponsible financial policy.

As for the European Union, he considered that the bloc has lost “political sovereignty” by giving up its autonomy and independence in favor of Washington.

In turn, he denied that the current “special military operation” in Ukraine has anything to do with the current economic cataclysms and blamed the West for a possible future famine in the world.
