DC Vinay Pratap held a meeting with the officials regarding demolition of illegal structures, slums in Janta Colony Sector 25. Encroachment removal campaign is to be launched here on May 15. Its approval has already been given by the city administrator’s advisor Dharam Pal. According to the information, about 10 acres of government land in the form of a colony has been occupied for many years. It is proposed to build a dispensary, primary school, community center and shopping area on this land. On May 3, the administration had also put up a board warning the residents of the colony to vacate and demolish the colony in 7 days. The administration had also got Munadi done in this regard. About 70 percent of the people have vacated the colony.
DC Vinay Pratap Singh has posted four duty magistrates during the encroachment demolition action on 15 May. The colony is divided into 4 parts. Each part will be looked after by a Duty Magistrate. At the same time, a sufficient number of police forces will also be deployed. The deputy commissioner has asked the engineering department to make arrangements to take possession of the land after demolition. The DC has said that after this the illegal construction will be demolished in the rest of the city. It is worth mentioning that after this Sanjay Colony in Industrial Area, Phase I will be demolished.
