VS’is the problem of public policies when they are developed on false or erroneous bases: inevitably there comes a time when their pursuit will produce an effect exactly opposite to that sought. Thus hydrogen, presented by some European leaders as THE miracle solution that will make it possible to decarbonize industry and transport, without changing anything in our lifestyles or our production processes. On September 14, while they were working on a new version of the directive on renewable energies, MEPs adopted, by a narrow majority, a positively aberrant amendment: it will allow tomorrow to label as “green” hydrogen which would be produced with gas or coal… So ultra-polluting!
