House decorum, scuffle between AAP-BJP councilors in EDMC meeting

A scuffle broke out between the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the last meeting of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC). Actually, BJP councilors had brought condemnation motion in the meeting of the House. These councilors had alleged that in the Delhi Assembly, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made fun of Kashmiri Pandits, on which the leader and councilors of the Aam Aadmi Party should apologize. During this both the sides came face to face. The councilors of the Aam Aadmi Party reached the leader of the house and started creating ruckus. Meanwhile, there was a fierce scuffle between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP councilors. Many members of both the parties violated the decorum of the house and leveled allegations against each other, during which there was fierce fighting.

The proceedings of the House began by condoling the death of Ishwari Das Mahajan, an elderly leader and former chairman of the local committee. EDMC Standing Committee chairman Birsinh Panwar alleged, “Immediately after the tribute was paid, AAP MPs started raising their voice and leveled allegations against the BJP members.” According to Panwar, AAP councilors were alleging that Delhi BJP chief Adarsh ​​had recently said wrong things against CM Kejriwal in the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ and the case related to Kashmiri Pandits. Birsingh Pawar said, “Adarsh ​​Gupta was saying only what others had said about Kejriwal and these words were not his (Adarsh ​​Gupta’s).” According to him, after this AAP MPs got into a scuffle, in defense our MPs also responded.
