An ailing woman weighing 160 kg fell off her bed in Maharashtra’s Thane city on Thursday, prompting family members to seek the help of the fire department to lift her. The 62-year-old woman, who was suffering from mobility problems due to ill health, accidentally fell from the bed at her flat in Waghbil area around 8 am, an official said. The family members failed to put the woman back on the bed.
Yasin Tadvi, head of the corporation’s disaster management cell, said that after the family members contacted the fire brigade, a team of Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) immediately rushed to the flat, picked up the woman and put her back on the bed. The officer said that the woman did not suffer any injury from the fall. The official said the case was unusual for the RDMC.
