Here’s what Pooja Makhija said in the Instagram video:

1) Protein can help control metabolic syndrome in women with PCOS. The first function is that it helps you to control your appetite. The protein stimulates the production of glucagon-like peptide 1. Now these hormones are involved in satiety, which helps you to control your appetite as well as reduce cravings.

2) Protein also helps you in improving the blood sugar level in the body. All foods trigger a glycemic response in which your blood sugar level, which is glucose, gradually rises, but, because proteins are digested slowly, they have relatively little effect on your blood sugar level.

3) Protein lets you lower your insulin response. This stimulates the release of glucagon into the body. It is a hormone that prevents the drastic drop in your blood sugar level and does retribution of insulin action. The right amount of protein can help you balance glucagon and insulin levels in the blood.
