Hubert Harkaz defeated world number one Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to win the Halle Open tennis tournament title and again make his strong claim for Wimbledon.

The Polish player, known for his sharp serve, defeated Medvedev 6-1, 6-4 in just 64 minutes to claim his maiden grasscourt title.

Harkaz, who made it to the semi-finals of last year’s Wimbledon, seems to be in form again. He also defeated defending champion Yugo Humbert, US Open semifinalist Felix Auger Aliassim and Australia’s Nick Kyrgios on their way to the title in Halle. According to the ATP Tour, Harkage has joined seven men to win his first five singles finals in the Open era.
