Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh today. He reached the historic Ridge ground to address a huge public meeting. On this occasion, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presented Modi a shawl, cap and a painting of Bhima Kali Temple Sarahan. During this, he had a virtual dialogue with the beneficiaries of the welfare schemes of the Center. To commemorate the completion of 8 years of NDA Government at the Center, a function has been organized at the Ridge Maidan at the national level.
Addressing the rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government before 2014 had considered corruption as an essential part of administration. He claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Center has adopted a zero-tolerance policy to corruption. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally at Ridge Maidan here to mark the eighth anniversary of his government, said his government has removed 9 crore fake names from the list of beneficiaries of various schemes. Modi said, ‘Be it Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or scholarship or any other scheme, we have eradicated corruption to directly benefit the people.’ The Prime Minister said, “We have transferred more than Rs 22 lakh crore to the bank accounts of beneficiaries of various schemes through Direct Benefit Transfer.” Outlining the measures taken by his government to deal with the COVID-19 global pandemic. While doing so, he said that about 200 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been given in the country. He said at the rally that India exported anti-Covid-19 vaccines to various countries and the Baddi Industrial Unit of Himachal Pradesh played an important role in manufacturing those doses. The Prime Minister said, “Now India extends its hand of friendship to help others, not in compulsion, as was done by providing anti-Covid-19 vaccines to many countries.” On this occasion, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that from Himachal. The successful Modi government, who had immense love, gave us everything without asking. He claimed that now he will return to power in Himachal again under the leadership of Modi. The weather was clear and sunny in the capital today. A huge crowd of people had started gathering at the rally site since morning. A large number of BJP workers and general public came from Shimla and other districts of the state to listen to the Prime Minister. The rally site was taken over by the SPG. About two thousand police personnel were deployed. Due to the large number of people coming to Shimla, the traffic system was changed. Before the rally, the Prime Minister did a road show on the Mall Road.
