Wales will face a tie against Austria in Cardiff in March and if he wins, he will face Scotland or Ukraine for a spot in the finals. The Dragons haven’t qualified for the World Cup since 1958 in Sweden, and Bale is looking forward to representing his country in the tournament before the end of his career.

But if Wales fails in the play-off stage, the withdrawal could occur. The player’s contract 32 years with the Real Madrid expires at the end of the season. However, if Wales reach their first World Cup in 64 years, Bale might consider signing a short-term contract with a team from the league.
