Former JDU spokesperson Ajay Alok joined BJP

New Delhi, 28 April (Language)

Former Janata Dal (United) spokesperson Ajay Alok joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. Alok joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni and other senior leaders. Ajay Alok, who started his political journey with JDU, was expelled from the party last year after differences with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

After joining the BJP, Alok said that today is a “very special” day for him as he has come to “his family”. He said, ‘Such a family whose head is Narendra Modi and whose policies affect not only me, but the whole country.’ Alok, a doctor by profession, said that it would be a matter of pride for him if he could contribute even one percent to the BJP’s campaign under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He has been a staunch supporter of BJP’s policies and strongly defends them at various forums. Welcoming Alok to the BJP, Vaishnav described him as a ‘profound thinker’ and said, ‘Those who work in association with our ideology, consider the spirit of nation first as their spirit and who consider development as their life’s journey, all such comrades. Always welcome. He said that Prime Minister Modi is doing the work of fulfilling the aspirations of today’s generation. The JD(U) had last year expelled him for his alleged closeness with former party president RCP Singh. Singh had resigned from the JD(U) following differences with the party’s supreme leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Alok hit out at Kumar saying he was destroying his own work by compromising on law and order, corruption and communalism. Alok said he was grateful to Nitish Kumar for expelling him from the JD(U). He claimed that a large number of JD(U) leaders would leave the party in the coming months.
