In the case of the death of a woman named Jayashree, who died under suspicious circumstances about 11 years ago in the Urban Estate police station area, the team of Crime Investigation Branch 1 has arrested the deceased’s husband, the former head of the Jat Educational Institution. The police have produced the accused in the court and sent him on one-day remand.
According to the police, on February 15, 2013, the police received information that Jayashree, wife of Surendra Nandal, the head of the Jat educational institution, had died due to gun shot injury. When the police started preliminary investigation, Jayshree’s family members told the police that the licensed double barrel gun of Jayshree’s husband Surendra Nandal was kept in the cupboard. Surendra’s wife Jayshree was taking out clothes from the cupboard when the gun fell on the ground and a bullet was fired and Jayshree died due to the bullet. At that time, action was taken by the police under Section 174. Later, after receiving the complaint, the matter was investigated by a DSP level officer and on the basis of investigation, a case of murder was registered against the accused in 2019. As no information was found about the accused in the case, a no trace report was filed.
On the orders of the court, orders were received to restart the investigation of the case. The investigation of the case was handed over to Additional Superintendent of Police Lokesh Kumar. During the investigation, important evidence of murder was found against the accused husband, on which the police arrested the accused Surendra Nandal.
