Flood in Phata near Kedarnath, hotel washed away

A hotel was washed away in a flash flood due to heavy rains near Kedarnath on the Rishikesh-Kedarnath National Highway, while two youths present in it were somehow rescued. Officials said that four policemen who went to save the youth were also injured. According to the information received from the Superintendent of Police, Rudraprayag, a hotel named ‘Kedar Vatika’ was washed away in the morning between Phata and Tarsali villages near Kedarnath due to heavy rains. The two youths who came out from under the debris – Arvind Singh, a resident of Chopta in Rudraprayag district and Naveen Singh, a resident of Jakholi in Rudraprayag district – have sustained injuries and have been hospitalised.
