Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a thumping 9-wicket win after wrapping up RCB’s innings for just 68 runs in the IPL match on Saturday with Marco Yansen and T Natarajan taking three wickets each. RCB’s first and second wickets fell for just 5 runs, after that the team could not recover and the ninth wicket fell for 65 runs. This is the lowest score in the current season and the sixth lowest in IPL history. This is also the second lowest score of RCB. The team scored 49 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders exactly 5 years ago (23 April 2017). Hyderabad achieved the target of 69 runs for victory at the loss of one wicket in just 8 overs. This is the fifth consecutive win for captain Kane Williamson’s team, which has lost the first two matches. The team moved to second place in the table with 10 points from 5 wins in 7 matches. RCB team remains in fourth place.
Yansen took 25 runs in four overs while Natarajan took three wickets for 10 runs in three overs. Jagdish Suchit made two for 12 while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umran Malik got one success each. Only two batsmen of RCB could score runs in double figures. Suyas Prabhudesai contributed 15 and Glenn Maxwell contributed 12 runs. Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma chased down the small target with fearless batting. He scored 47 runs in 28 balls with the help of eight fours and one six. Williamson’s 16 while Rahul Tripathi, who won the team for a six, remained unbeaten on seven.
