Feid and Karol G were the big winners of the ninth installment of the Latin American Music Awards which, under the motto of “We Speak Music”, celebrated its first bilingual edition on Thursday night in USA.
In the ceremony broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las VegasKarol G and Feid, both Colombian stars, took home six awards each.
Karol G won in the category of artist of the year, song of the year and album of the year, while Feid stood out, among others, in the category of streaming artist of the year. Karol G could not be present at the ceremony, but Feid went on stage a couple of times, first with Farruko and Jay Wheeler to celebrate Yandel, who received the Latin AMA Pioneer award, and then for a musical number only with Yandel, with which he fulfilled a dream of performing with one of his idols. Yandel and Feid also won the collaboration of the year category for “Yandel 150.”
Upon receiving his award presented by ArchangelYandel spoke about the effort that his career required.
“Since 1998 I chose to be in this career for my love of music, and the truth is that those beginnings when reggaeton was nothing, there are moments with a lot of stones along the way, but when you don’t lose faith and put your mind to dedication, effort “You put passion into it, there is no one or nothing to stop you, you will achieve it,” he said.
Sergio Lizárraga MS Banda stellar ensemble of regional Mexican music, received the Latin AMA Legacy award, as did the Venezuelan singer-songwriter Ricardo Montanerwho thanked Jesús and his family, especially his wife, for accompanying him since he began his career.
“To those who have just started, who have little time in this world of music, tell them that it is worth the It’s worth it to continue working, it’s worth it for them to complete 45 years of career and to continue standing there, and I want to see them because I’m going to be watching them on TV in 45 years and give them the best of kicks so that they continue to move forward like a day they gave them to me,” he said.
Moments later, Montaner performed a medley with Thalia, Sergio George, Manuel Medrano, Sylvester Dangond and DJ Adoni.
Shakira and Young Miko They received three awards each. Young Miko won global Latin song of the year for “Classy 101” with Feid; best collaboration – urban, and the coveted new artist of the year award. Shakira won the categories of best pop artist and best pop song for “Acróstico” and song of the year for “TQM” with Karol G.
The gala was full of world premieres, collaborations and tributes. It was broadcast live on Univision, UNIMAS, Galavision and ViX.
The masters of ceremonies were Thalia, Becky G, Alejandra Espinoza and Carlos Ponce. Thalía premiered “Te va a doler” from her album “A much honor,” which will be released on Friday, accompanied by Mexican-American DJ Deorro. Becky G was accompanied by Mexican artist Oscar Maydon to perform her new song “Mercedes.”

Another of the notable presentations was that of Peso Pluma with Arcángel to perform their hit “Peso Completo”. For his part, Marc Anthony premiered his new single “Ale Ale” from his next album. Brazilian Anitta presented a preview of her album “Funk Generation”. Wisin, Farruko, Dalex, Dimelo Flow, Sech were other artists who made the Latin AMAs dance.
The Sonoran singer-songwriter Carín León presented his song “When life is a drink” for the first time on television. On the other hand, NoelSchajris with Jennifer Nettles, Danny Ocean, Morat, Ryan Castro, Chino Pacas, Gabito Ballesteros, Yng Lvcas, Venesti Nacho, Milo Beat and Jay Wheeler with Zhamira were other artists who made the night shine.
