Evelyn Salgado and Adán Augusto López inaugurate the 46th edition of the Tianguis Turístico

Acapulco, Guerrero.- The governor of the state, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, together with the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, inaugurated the 46th edition of the Tianguis Turístico, which takes place in Acapulco from May 22 to 25, in which the consolidation of of more than 65 thousand 588 business appointments, which represents a historical record in the realization of this important event.

The participation of 1,556 buyers from 937 companies from 47 nations is also confirmed; as well as the presence of one thousand 11 exhibiting companies, represented by 2 thousand 292 people who will attend the attendees, having 600 business suites, in which the tourist offer of Mexico is found.

In her welcome message, the governor emphasized the historical role that Guerrero and Acapulco have in the country’s tourism positioning, for which she reiterated her willingness to relaunch the tourism sector with a comprehensive perspective, in balance with the environment and influencing positively to boost all sectors together.

“Because our state is much more than its beautiful beaches, more than our magical town of Taxco. Guerrero is the Mountain, which keeps our origin and traditions in its communities. Guerrero is the Costa Chica, drenched in our Afro-Mexican heritage. Guerrero is the Sierra, with its coffee and wonderful views. Guerrero is a sea of ​​endless possibilities for all of our visitors,” he said.

For this reason, he reiterated that in Guerrero “we are ready and we are ready for this historic edition of the Tianguis Turístico”, bearing witness to the entire tradition of the people of Guerrero as hosts.

In his participation, on behalf of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, highlighted that this event is one of the most important at the tourism level, offering more and better alternatives for the consolidation and strengthening of the industry.

“Mexico, after the long night of Covid, is on its feet, the tourism sector is a sign that Mexico is going to get ahead. There is a consolidated tourism sector,” she said.

He congratulated all those who participate in the organization of this event and prioritized the coordination of efforts, in order to continue strengthening this economic activity.

Meanwhile, the federal Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués expressed his approval at the holding of this event, which after the situation that has been experienced as a result of the pandemic, offers a promising outlook for the industry.

“Welcome to the land where the Tianguis Turístico de México was born, grew and consolidated as one of the most important tourist fairs in Latin America,” he said while highlighting the warmth with which they receive tourists and recognized the work of Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda.

During the opening ceremony, awards were given to outstanding people in the sector, who have contributed to its strengthening.

Previously, the governor participated in the Meeting of the Executive Commission of Tourism of the National Conference of Governors (Conago); In addition, she met with the United States ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, with whom she spoke about priority issues such as security and the economy.
