A federal court granted an amparo this Wednesday, September 7, to the former director of Petróleos Mexicanos, Emilio Lozoya, which annuls the justified preventive detention against him.
Jenaro Villamil, president of the Public Broadcasting System of the Mexican State (SPR), said on his social networks that a judge will have “the last word on his release.”
On June 6, the Attorney General’s Office reported that Lozoya would remain in prison because there had been no fulfilled the mandatory damage repair in the Odebrecht and Agronitrogenados cases for which he is accused.
According to the newspaper Reform, On April 11, Pemex accepted a $10 million reparation agreement from Emilio Lozoya. so that the two cases for which he is accused are provisionally suspended.
Also, in the same month of April, Lozoya filed an accusation against him for the crime of tax fraudThis after it was said that the former director of Pemex did not pay 2.6 million pesos corresponding to the 2016 fiscal year.
Lozoya, who has been extradited to Mexico for two years, promised to pay the 2.6 million pesos to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit as repair of the damage, which has been managed in accordance with the FGR report this Monday.
