According to a document from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show, a total of 15 million dollars will be invested in this project.

Construction will start in May 2024 and will be ready in the same month of 2025.

To date, some $200 million have been invested in Starbase’s construction.

Currently, 2,100 people are working there, living in houses and trailers.

The development will have a $100 million office complex; a $96 million rocket factory, a $21 million parking lot, and the aforementioned $15 million mall, recreation center, and sushi restaurant.

Starbase will primarily engage in the manufacturing, research and development of the Starship spacecraft, while Cape Canaveral, Florida, will be its primary operating base.

Last March, SpaceX received approval from the United States authorities to carry out its third test flight of its Starship spacecraft.

The November test flight marked a big improvement compared to Starship’s maiden liftoff in April 2023, when some of the rocket’s 33 main engines shut down and the vehicle began to fall into the Gulf of Mexico.

SpaceX destroyed the rocket just four minutes after that first flight to prevent it from deviating from its course.
