Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio was shot dead on Wednesday evening after holding a rally in Quito. Local media has confirmed this news by quoting Interior Minister Juan Zapata. Villavicencio, 59, was one of eight candidates for the August 20 presidential election.
