The exponent known as “The most that sings”, Sunday Quinones It will arrive for the first time on the stage of the Coca-Cola Music Hall to celebrate its 45 years of musical career.
The musical celebration will be on February 5, 2023 in the new show room in the T Mobile District.
The salsero was born on August 9, 1963 in the state of New Jersey, United States. However, he feels he kept in mind his Puerto Rican roots. Of Puerto Rican parents he grew up in the neighborhoods of the city of Perth Amboy until he was four years old and then he settled in Puerto Rico in the municipality of Ceiba.
Starting a new life in Puerto Rico gave Quiñones the opportunity to absorb all the Caribbean influences of the island, its music, culture and customs that matured his musical spirit. After spending just over nine years in Puerto Rico, the singer returned with his family to the United States. Once there, they settled in New York City, where he began to take his first steps in music by joining the Conjunto Nativo, a Puerto Rican musical group with a presence in the United States.
Domingo Quiñones had an indisputable talent for salsa. In 1985, he had the opportunity to replace the vocalist of singer Luis Perico Ortiz’s orchestra. Due to his skill in Latin tunes, Quiñones became the permanent leader of the group, and recorded the albums “La vida en broma”, “In Tradition” and Perico, all between 1985 and 1987.
After that first work achievement, Domingo Quiñones was already in the sights of a couple of important record companies such as RMM, the pioneer record company in the salsa, merengue and Latin jazz genres for Latin artists in the United States. In this way, by 1987 Quiñones obtained a record contract in solidarity with said company and recorded the album “Domingo es mi nombre” with which he began as a salsa artist.
The contract with RMM provided Domingo with a prodigious platform to explore his musical quality and ability to the fullest. By the year 1997, Quiñones managed to record an album with which he gained international fame and credibility among his public, called “A miracle is needed.” In this intimate, sensitive and rhythmic album, Quiñones not only knew how to record his voice, but also his deep love for salsa.
RMM was the record company that placed Domingo Quiñones as one of the most important international salseros and that now celebrates its 45 years of music in a big way.
In the concert, Quiñones intends to review his musical career with his wide repertoire of hits. Tickets are on sale at Ticketera.
