Disney will stop requiring the use of masks for vaccinated guests at its Orlando parks

The public that attends the Disney amusement parks in Orlando, United States, starting this Thursday, will be able to make their laughter visible, without having to hide them behind a mask. As announced by the company, since that day will no longer be compulsory that element of protection against Covid-19, for those visitors who are fully vaccinated against the virus.

On its website, Disney stated that face masks will be optionalboth indoors and outdoors, for those over 2 years of age who have completed their vaccination schedule.

“We expect visitors who are not fully vaccinated to continue to wear face coverings at all indoor venues, including attractions and theaters,” the company added.

As it turned out, this change will not apply to Disney closed transportationincluding buses, monorails and the Disney Skyliner gondola, where guests will still be required to wear masks.

It was also detailed that this flexibility will only apply, for now, in the Disney parks in Orlando. At its facilities in California, meanwhile, face coverings will continue to be required indoors, including many attractions and enclosed transportation vehicles, regardless of vaccination status.

The company officially reported that “all masks (whether disposable or reusable)” used in sectors where the new regulations do not apply “must have at least 2 layers of breathable material, completely cover the nose and mouth, and be secured below the chin, and be configured with ties or ear bands, so that the visitor does not have to use their hands.”

According to park rules, “neck gaiters, chin-baring triangle bandanas, masks with valves, or mesh material or holes” will not be accepted as masks, nor will costume masks.

In the Universal line

With this decision, Disney follows the example of the universal parks in Orlando, which this past Saturday eased the requirements for visitors who have the complete vaccination schedule against Covid-19.

universal already had previously allowed not to wear a maskbut two months ago he had to recover the measure due to the increase in cases of covid-19 due to the omicron variant, which caused a huge wave of infections around the world.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the positive rate in the state has fallen by half in recent weeks and, according to the latest data, is 14.9%, when at the beginning of last January exceeded 30%, in a trend similar to that registered in the rest of the country.
