Delhi fire: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announces compensation, orders inquiry into the incident

New Delhi, May 14 (Agency)

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the kin of those killed in a fire incident in a building in Mundka and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. 27 people have died in this incident. Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited the spot to take stock of the situation. The Chief Minister said, “A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident. A compensation of Rs 10 lakh each will be given to the families of the dead and Rs 50,000 to the injured.” He said the fire was horrific and the bodies were burnt to such an extent that it was difficult to identify them. Kejriwal said, “The Delhi government is providing help to identify the missing and the dead.” Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had visited the spot on Friday night.
