In the Jantar Mantar hate sloganeering case, BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay reached Connaught Place police station late at 3 pm. According to the information received from the police, in this case 6 people named Ashwini Upadhyay, Vinod Sharma, Deepak Singh, Vineet Kranti, Preet Singh and Deepak have been arrested on charges related to ‘hate speech’.
Earlier in the night, BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay had said at the police station that on the anniversary of Quit India Movement, a program was organized at Jantar Mantar under Save India Foundation on August 8. He told that 50 people were called at that time, but seeing the increasing crowd, he left the stage at 12:00 and the program was ended. According to Ashwini, he does not know who are the people who raised the slogans and why they raised the slogans. He does not recognize the accused nor have any slogans been raised in front of them. Ashwani Upadhyay said that he is completely innocent in this whole case. Ashwani Upadhyay is a BJP leader and an advocate by profession.
Delhi Police arrests Ashwini Upadhyay
In the case of provocative slogans, Delhi Police had also registered an FIR against unknown people. Delhi Police Commissioner has given instructions to take strict action against the accused. Delhi Police says that Ashwini Upadhyay and others involved in Sunday’s incident will be arrested. Ashwini Upadhyay was called to the Connaught Palace police station.
Ashwini Upadhyay reached Connaught Place police station in Delhi at around 3 pm. He says that he will keep the truth in front of the police. Police is also conducting raids to arrest the accused identified in the case.
Delhi Police issued a statement saying, “Ashwini Upadhyay and others involved in the incident will be arrested. Delhi Police is handling the matter as per law and any kind of communal hatred will not be tolerated.” According to Delhi Police, this event was not allowed. The nature of the slogans seen in the video has drawn outrage from various sections, including political leaders.
Claim, Police detained Vishnu Gupta, National President of Hindu Sena
Hindu Sena national president Vishnu Gupta has been detained by the police in a case related to provocative sloganeering at Jantar Mantar. The Hindu Sena claimed to have raided the residence of national president Vishnu Gupta at around 1:30 pm and illegally arrested him on false charges of making controversial remarks at Jantar Mantar by some unidentified activists. The Hindu Sena issued a statement saying that the Delhi Police is acting like a dictator and harassing many right-wing Hindu activists without their participation. Hindu Sena asked whether any police arrest the national president of any organization for any charge against any member of their organization? If this is the democracy then it is most unsafe in India.
