David Cervantes Peredo, in charge of the Reconstruction Program, dies

The undersecretary of the Ministry of Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), David Cervantes Peredopassed away this Saturday, reported the President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

Through his Twitter account, the chief executive regretted the death of the undersecretary and recalled that since 1988 they have been working together for the transformation of the country.

“I am very sorry for the passing of our colleague. David Cervantes Peredo, Undersecretary of Sedatu. We met in 1988 and since then we have worked together for the transformation of Mexico and for the benefit of our people,” he wrote on social networks.

In addition, López Obrador assured that “we lost a public servant of deep convictions and unquestionable honesty”, for which he sent a hug to his family and friends.

Cervantes Peredo was also in charge of the National Reconstruction Program of the current administration.

After the news of the death, the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, He described the undersecretary of Sedatu as a “simple, hard-working, honest man, with great convictions and great thoughts.”

He also acknowledged that “the departure” of a colleague “hurts a lot”, for which he extended his affection to the relatives of the public official.
