Cyberpunk 2077 arrived on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S: all the news of update 1.5

Following a turbulent launch in late 2020, Polish developer CD Projekt RED announced the 1.5 update of his video game Cyberpunk 2077. Among the biggest news, it will come to the consoles of the current generation, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S with graphic improvements and better performance of frames per second.

Cyberpunk, which originally launched in December 2020, has made its way to PC, streaming services like Google Stadia, and last-gen consoles: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The studio was repeatedly delaying its arrival on the new Sony and Microsoft platforms.

Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.5, released this Tuesday, offers exclusive features for next-generation consoles, such as local ray tracing shadows, as announced in a statement by the developer responsible for Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3.

With its arrival on the new consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 received two new graphics modes for these platforms: performance mode, running at 60fps and dynamic 4K scaling; and ray tracing mode, with lighting photorealistic and game at 30fps and dynamic scaling in 4K.

As exceptions are the Xbox Series S version, which by default only allows you to play 30fps and 1440p, while the video game for PS5 add haptic controls like adaptive triggers using the DualSense controller and spatial audio.

The Polish video game studio assured that the trophies obtained in previous generations will not be available to PS5 players, but will be available to those of Xbox Series X and S that have used the Smart Delivery feature.

Other features with the new version

Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.5 also adds new features that reach players on all platforms, with new features such as renting apartments, new appearance customization options or more poses for photo mode.

The patch also fixes some bugs present in previous versions, such as in close combat with non-playable characters (NPC), and improvements in enemy dismemberment and damage animations and more skillful enemies when it comes to block and evade attacks.

Other aspects have also been improved, such as crowds, which in the case of some NPCs can react aggressively to taunts (only in the version for next generation consoles).

Driving also received novelties with the arrival of a new consumption mode by pressing the accelerator and brake at the same time and turning the steering wheel, a new braking system and improvements in simulations such as gear changes, on motorcycles. and in first person driving. Now NPCs can also drive away from danger in their vehicles or die in traffic accidents.

CD Projeckt RED also adjusted several aspects of the gameplay, with changes to the economy, increased difficulty in easy mode, new stats that replace the previous evasion, changes to persistent fire or poison damage. or the option to escape from the police when hiding within the search area.
