Once in China, corona virus infection is spreading rapidly. China on Saturday confirmed two deaths from Covid-19. In fact, for the first time in more than a year, there has been a death due to Covid in China. The National Health Commission said that both these deaths occurred in the northeastern province of Jilin. The deaths occurred for the first time in China since January 2021. After which the death toll in the country due to this Pandemic reached 4,638.

Overall, China reported 4,051 new cases on Saturday, up from 4,365 the day before. The Health Commission said, more than half the new cases from the total cases were found in Jilin. The coronavirus spread from Wuhan, China in late 2019. After this, this infection engulfed the whole world. But China claimed to keep it largely under control through strict rules, lockdown.
During this, the Chinese government’s “zero-Covid” policy was also in the news. Under which strictness is being taken in the Covid infected areas. In the last few days, the cases of Covid in China have increased rapidly. President Xi Jinping said on Thursday that China will stick to its zero-Covid strategy. Some cities have been closed, including the southern tech hub of Shenzhen, home to 17.5 million people.

Shanghai has made schooling online, but has postponed the lockdown. New cases reported daily have increased from less than 100 just three weeks ago to several thousand per day now. In view of the current situation, Jilin has built eight “temporary hospitals” and two quarantine centers. Thousands of beds have been arranged with the help of giant cranes to provide temporary medical facilities in Jilin this week.
