As predicted, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh received intermittent rains on Sunday due to the active Western Disturbance. At some places the sun was not visible throughout the day. Strong winds also blew. In such a situation, once again people felt the cold wave. Meanwhile, it has been predicted that the weather pattern may remain the same on Monday and Tuesday as well. There is a possibility of snowfall in the mountains.

Light rain occurred in parts of the national capital Delhi on Sunday. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 6.4 degrees, which is three degrees below normal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy skies and thundershowers on Monday as well. On the other hand, the outbreak of severe cold continued in most parts of Punjab and Haryana on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, Muktsar city of Punjab was the coldest place in the state. Where the minimum temperature was recorded two degrees Celsius, which is less than normal. At the same time, severe cold continues at other places including Ferozepur. Ferozepur recorded a minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius and Faridkot recorded a minimum temperature of three degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, Gurdaspur, Patiala, Ludhiana and Amritsar recorded minimum temperatures of 5.5, 6.4, 6.3 and 6.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. Haryana is also in the grip of severe cold. Hisar in Haryana recorded a minimum temperature of four degrees Celsius. Besides, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Ambala, Kurukshetra and Rohtak recorded minimum temperatures of 5.6, 4.8, 7.6, 6.9 and 7.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. Whereas, Chandigarh, the joint capital and union territory of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a minimum temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius.
