China votes against declaring Indo-US Pakistani terrorist Makki as “global terrorist”

United Nations:

China at the last minute blocked a joint resolution of the US and India to include Pakistani terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) banned list. The US and India submitted a joint resolution under the Security Council’s Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee to designate Makki as a global terrorist.

.

America has already declared Makki a terrorist. Makki is a relative of Hafiz Saeed, the leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba and the main conspirator of 26/11 Mumbai attacks. It is being told that India and the US had submitted a joint resolution under the UN Security Council’s 1267 ISIL (Daesh) and Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee to designate Makki as a global terrorist, but China accepted the resolution as final. Interrupted in the moment.

Pakistan’s friendly country China has blocked efforts by India and its allies to list Pakistani terrorists several times in the past. India achieved a major diplomatic victory at the United Nations in May 2019, when the global body declared Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar a ‘global terrorist’. It took India almost a decade to do this. China was the only country in the 15-member UN Security Council body that tried to block efforts to blacklist Azhar.

China uses veto power every time
The United Nations Security Council has five nations – the United States, Britain, China, France and Russia – as permanent members. They have the right of ‘veto’. That is, if any one of them votes against any resolution of the council, then that proposal will not pass.
