Two weeks ago, another oral court took a controversial decision to dismiss Cristina and her children in the Hotesur case where the laundering is being investigated of 120 million pesos that Báez and another state contractor, Cristóbal López, paid in “rents”.

Last week, the financier Leonardo Fariña declared who affirmed how, in his opinion, Báez converted into black silver the public funds that he received in white for surcharges in order to be able to invent expenses and use trout bills.

The summons bears the signature of the president of the Federal Oral Court (TOF) 2, Jorge Gorini, and also includes the summons to provide testimonial statement to other former bosses Cabinet of the Kirchner governments.

The president -who can testify in writing- was summoned to February 8, 2022, at 9.30, a day in which the current Minister of Security, Aníbal Fernández, is also expected to attend, who also led the team of Kirchner ministers.

The round of testimonials to former cabinet chiefs will begin on February 1, 2022 with the statement of Juan Manuel Abal Medina, who will give testimony after the Treasury Attorney, Carlos Zannini, former Legal and Technical Secretary of the Néstor and Cristina Kirchner governments, does so.

The second day of this batch of testimonies is scheduled for February 7, an opportunity for which the current governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, both former heads of Cabinet during the government of Cristina Kirchner.

Except for Abal Medina, the rest of those mentioned can testify in writing for their various roles as current officials.

The oral trial is currently held in a blended manner in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the three TOF2 judges present in the federal courts of Retirement and the remaining parties connected through the Zoom platform.

The statements of the former cabinet chiefs had been requested for the defense of the vice president and their objective is to explain the mechanisms that are activated when assigning a public work, in an effort to demonstrate that the bids were not addressed and that all were made according to the established norms.

The case investigates whether the Austral Construcciones company, owned by businessman Lázaro Báez, benefited from the allocation of different public works during Kirchnerism.
