Canada come back against Russia and will face Spain in the ATP Cup final

Canada will be the rival of Spain at the end of the ATP Cup, team competition that is being held in Sydney (Australia), after overcoming this Saturday to Russia in some exciting semifinals resolved in the doubles match (2-1).

Canadians Felix Auger-Aliassime Y Denis Shapovalov they came back from the decisive doubles against the Russians Daniil Medvedev and Roman Safiullin (4-6, 7-5 and 10-8), and will face Spain in the final of the ATP Cup that beat Poland in the other semifinal played this Friday. Previously, Shapovalov had achieved the first point against Safiullin (6-4, 5-7, 6-4) and Medvedev had tied the tie against Auger-Aliassime (6-4, 6-0).

“We have done a great job. Feliz has played incredible in the important moments. We have great chemistry as a team“said Shapovalov after confirming the first final for his team in the ATP Cup.

Thus, the Americans will face each other this Sunday with Spain, which on Friday reached its second final of the tournament after eliminating Poland thanks to victories in the singles of Pablo Carreño and Roberto Bautista against Jan Zielinski (6-2, 6-1) and Hubert Hurkacz (7-6 (6), 2-6, 7-6 (5).

The Spanish team was runner-up in 2020 in the first edition of this competition against Serbia and a semi-finalist in 2021, when lost to Italy.
