Butler, Jaiswal, Samson’s explosive batting

Hyderabad, April 2 (Agency)

Last year’s runners-up Rajasthan Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 72 runs in a one-sided Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Sunday. Rajasthan posted a mammoth score of 203 for five thanks to the blazing batting of Jos Buttler (54 runs), Yashasvi Jaiswal (54 runs) in the powerplay and a half-century from captain Sanju Samson (55 runs). Then his bowlers allowed Sunrisers to score only 131 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Trent Boult (one maiden, two wickets for 21 runs) gave a blow to the hosts’ hopes by giving a double blow in the very first over. Then Yuzvendra Chahal took 4 wickets for 17 runs. Abdul Samad was the top scorer for Sunrisers by scoring 32 not out. Earlier, Butler (22 balls, seven fours, three sixes) and Jaiswal tore apart the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling attack led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Captain Samson then hit three fours and four sixes during his 32-ball innings.
