People of Bishnoi community gathered at the Mini Secretariat demanding registration of a case against the police personnel in connection with the death of Harpal Bishnoi of village Nadhodi, who was in a coma in police custody, in Rohtak PGI and raised slogans against the administration and alleged that third degree Harpal has died due to use. The protesters announced that if a case is not registered against the police personnel, they will continue their agitation. Apart from Bishnoi community, people from other communities also came to the Mini Secretariat from many villages including Dhangad, Chindad, Baropal, Nadhodi, Dariyapur, Fatehabad.
All the people allege that the police gave inhuman torture to Harpal due to which Harpal died.
Warning of demonstration at CM’s program on Janmashtami
The family has not taken Harpal’s body even on the third day. They have said that they will continue their protest at Rohtak Hospital until a case is filed against the police employees. People of Bishnoi community said that a program is going to be organized in Hisar on Janmashtami. In which the chief guest is the Chief Minister. If the matter is not resolved by then, protests will be held there also.

On July 2, Harpal, resident of village Nadhodi, was arrested by the team of Anti Narcotics Cell, Hisar on charges of opium smuggling. Harpal’s condition deteriorated in police custody and he was admitted to Rohtak PGI, where he died on August 31. The family alleges that the police gave him third degree and even drowned him in water. Due to which he went into coma and died.
