With the win, Barcelona overcame Atletico to return to the top four in La Liga. Barcelona’s comeback came after a goalless draw.
Atletico fired the first shot at Camp Nou in the eighth minute through Yannick Carasco. The goal came from a cross by former Barcelona player Luis Suarez.
But two minutes later, Jordi Alba’s volleyball brought Barcelona back. Alba’s goal came from a Danny Alves cross.
Barcelona then took the lead in the 21st minute through Gavi. Barcelona scored the third goal in the 43rd minute through Ronaldo Aroho. Ferran Torres’ goal attempt was the result of Arouho’s goal.
Danny Alves completed the scoring for Barcelona in the 49th minute. It was Alves’ first goal since returning to the club.
However, Atletico scored the second goal in the 58th minute through Luis Suarez.
Then, in the 68th minute, Danny Alves was shown a red card and sent off.
With the win, Barcelona moved up to fourth place with 38 points from 22 games. Atletico finished fifth.
