Ban on all celebrities including Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz removed from going abroad

There are 4,863 people in the ECL black list and 30,000 people in the Provisional National Identity List (PNIL).

The new government of Pakistan has removed the names of many big personalities including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif from the ‘no-fly’ list. In the first cabinet meeting last week, Home Minister Rana Sanaullah was authorized to review the ‘Exit Control List’. In this list there are those who are not allowed to leave the country. According to the news of ‘Express Tribune’, the Ministry of Home Affairs has started issuing notification to remove those names from ECL, which were in the list for 120 days without any concrete reason.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, his wife Nusrat Shahbaz, niece Maryam Nawaz, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, his son Abdullah Khaqan and Finance Minister Miftah Ismail have been allowed to leave the country without any restrictions. Sanaullah had said on Friday that names were put in the ECL for political vendetta. There are 4,863 people in the ECL black list and 30,000 people in the Provisional National Identity List (PNIL).

The minister had said, “Yes, the ECL rules have been amended, which will directly benefit 3,500 people.”
